Nut Butter

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know how much I love my peanut/nut butters. I love peanut butter like crazy. A day just cannot go by without at least a couple spoonfuls of the yummy stuff finding it’s way into my tummy. I’ve also started getting into almond butter. The stuff is peanut butter’s right hand man. Almost as good as peanut butter, but no way πŸ˜‰

There used to be really only one type of peanut butter. “Regular.” Now though, you have all sorts of flavors, additions, and types, such as all natural, trans fat free, low fat, and organic. Companies such as PB & Company make lots of different kinds of peanut butter. The variety doesn’t even stop at peanut butter though. You can have sunflower seed butter, almond butter, cashew butter, and soynut butter as well. The possibilities are endless. Here’s my personal favorites and a little description about each. (In no particular order)moresss1

1. Full Circle Organic Peanut Butter: The first time I tried this, I thought it was a bit odd. But, after eating it more and more I started loving it. This peanut butter is very good on top of oatmeal and eaten straight out of the jar. It melts perfectly and it leaves that oh-so wonderful stickyness in your mouth that’ll make you jump for joy! Rating: 9/10100-25101

2. Skippy All Natural (both creamy/super chunk): I absolutely adore this peanut butter. It’s one of the creamiest all natural peanut butter I’ve ever come across, and it’s taste is impeccable. It is perfect in sandwiches esp. the classic combo of Peanut Butter and Jelly. It doesn’t melt as well as the Organic does, but it’s still mighty tasty atop oatmeal. Rating: 9.5/10skipcream1

3. Smuckers All Natural: To be honest, this is not my favorite peanut butter. I am not a fan of the oil separation style and the only thing I have found this nut butter to be good on is oatmeal. Some people love it, others don’t. Try it for yourself and maybe you will! Rating: 6.5/10ss_65smuckers

4. All Natural Krema: The number one reason why I love this peanut butter is because it’s only ingredient is peanuts. That is it. Nothing else. It is very, very creamy and melts like nothing else. Exceptionally yummy (esp. on oatmeal and ice cream) Rating: 8.5/10100_2550

5. PB & Company White Chocolate Wonderful: I cannot say that I dislike a single one of their products, and this one is by far my favorite. You can taste the peanut butter and the “chocolate” flavor isn’t overpowering at all. Simply Incredible. Suggested Use: everything! Rating: 9.5/1017010005_lg

6. PB & Company Dark Chocolate Dreams: I mean seriously, come on. What could possibly be bad about this? It’s amazing. Nuff said. I love it on top of oatmeal, in sandwiches, and on top of cereal with warm milk. Rating: 9/10dreams1

7. PB &C Company Cinnamon Raisin Swirl: This peanut butter is very nice, with a subtle flavor of cinnamon and actual raisins swirled in. I adore this peanut butter in sandwiches, with dried prunes, and on oatmeal. Rating: 9/10cinna

8. Jiff All Natural: I really suggest this peanut butter to people who are making the switch from regular to all natural and don’t want a major shock. It definitely tastes like all natural should, but it is still incredibly creamy, and a lot like the original. I highly suggest it, esp. on sandwiches and oatmeal! It’s also really good with pretzels dipped in! Rating: 9/10jif_natural_2409. PB & Company’s Mighty Maple: This peanut butter is one of my all time favorites. It’s taste and texture are great. Basically, this peanut butter will NOT disappoint! Suggested with: dried fruit, ice cream, sandwiches, and oatmeal. Pretty much everything πŸ˜‰ Rating: 9.5/10mm10. PB & Company’s Bee’s Knee: OH MY WORD. Not that I like to play favorites, but this peanut butter has my heart! Rating: 10/10 bk11. Maranatha All Natural Almond Butter: Deeelicious! Definitely love the stuff. Highly suggested! Has a great, roasted taste. At least that’s how I describe it! Rating: 9/10 100_620012. DarkΒ  Chocolate Almond Butter. Oh my, oh my! At first I thought the AB taste was too present, but after a few spoonfuls…DELISH! Rating: 8/10

13. Maranatha Organic PB. MMM, so creamy and tasty! Rating: 9/10

14. Trader Joe’s Creamy Unsalted Peanut Butter. LOVE! Who doesn’t love Trader Joe’s?? Rating: 9/10

15. Barney Butter: Must admit, not in love with this one, but it DID melt like crazy (love that). Rating: 7/10

16. Maranatha Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter: ALMOST as incredible as DCD, but not quite. Still pretty darn close. So delicious! Rating: 8/5/10

17. Whole Foods Honey Roasted Peanut Butter (grind your own): Um, I cannot even put this into words. Rating: 9.9/10

18. Organic Peanut Butter (Whole Foods): A pretty standard, yet insanely delicious peanut butter. I love the added sweetness! Rating: 9/10 19. Skippy Natural HONEY Peanut Butter: If you like the Bee’s Knees (PB & CO), you will LOVE this CHEAPER peanut butter. It. is. incredible. Rating: 10/10

  1. oh how i love nut buttersssss. oh man a finger to the jar and just lick away πŸ˜‰

  2. HAHAHAAHa….Love this! I am a crazy nutbuttah freak, too.

Oh, and if you can ever get your hands on it, try Costco’s organic creamy peanut butter (Kirkland Brand). It is so amazingly creamy and surprisingly a bit sweet even though it doesn’t have any added sugars. It also doesn’t have any added oils. It is so much better than Smucker’s natural because I feel like Smucker’s is grainy and adds way too much salt. Kind of similar to Whole Foods PB, but Kirkland’s is a lot more flavorful in my opinion.

  3. I love that you are a pb freak like me πŸ˜€
And I have tried/owned every type you mentioned except for the Barney Butter..
I agree that whole food’s honey roasted pb (grind your own) is to DIE for.
Another one that is my fave is this one I got in Philadelphia, PA at the train station market thingy made by some Amish people- Butterscotch peanut butter. I died and went to heaven.
Also I love Trader Joe’s almond butter + flax seeds πŸ™‚
Oh, and Naturally More is yummy, too πŸ™‚
    Oh, and Coconut butter.
    And Cashew butter.
Okay, I’m done. But I could go on..
